Event Details

Winship's memoir (The Canandaigua Letters), which chronicles his experience in Korea during the DMZ War of the late ‘60s has evolved into a 2-hour/2-part PBS documentary (The Evolution of the Hermit Kingdom), which he is writing & directing.  It is  scheduled for broadcast late next year and features several of this country’s foremost retired officers and military historians. In late 1966, North Korean leader Kim Il Sung began sending guerrillas into South Korea for the first time since the Korean War, setting off a three-year conflict known as the “Second Korean War.” Join us for a look at this little known chapter in American history.
